Sculptures of Anish Kapoor, the celebrated British artist, in Lalique crystal
Anish Kapoor created beautiful and unique sculptures in Lalique crystal and marble, which are presented by the Galleria Massimo Minini and exhibited at Art Basel in Switzerland from June 15 to 19.
Assisted by Galleria Massimo Minini, Anish Kapoor was able to explore working with crystal. The shape he lent to this magical material, the work we see today, measures 1.3 metres across, curve upon curve. Sleek, languid and extremely delicate, it is like a jewel, balanced in the middle of an imposing slab of marble.
"I'm happy to exhibit Anish Kapoor’s unique sculptures in crystal, this magical material so sublimely transformed by Lalique." explains a delighted Massimo Minini.
Silvio Denz, Chairman and CEO of Lalique, shares his enthusiasm. "Unique. That's the word which does justice to the work which Anish Kapoor entrusted to us to complete. Unique, like the achievement of this great artist. Unique, finally, through the emotion which inspires the art."
