A Lalique creation for Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey
Bottles and carafes are a long-standing tradition at Lalique. René Lalique started to create the first line in 1920. In 1934, he designed a collection of « Yquem » carafes and glasses and a « Barsac » collection in 1939.
Continuing this work, Lalique has created a special bottle for Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey, a wine-producing property of Silvio Denz since 2014 and located in the heart of the Sauternes region next to Bordeaux.
This bottle is based on one of the artist’s iconic designs and bearing the Lalique emblem. The engraving of « Femme et Raisins » is a piece created by René Lalique in 1928 in white press-molded glass on a silver background. The original was recessed into the woodwork of the wagons-lit of the « Côte d’Azur Pullman-Express » (Orient-Express), which started operating in 1929.
The « Femme et Raisins » has now been given a new lease of life in an exquisite collaboration with Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey, starting with the 2013 Sauternes vintage 1er Grand Cru Classé.
