The Inspiration
René Lalique’s oeuvre is
lush with flora. Stylized, idealized, reinvented flowers, such as the splendid
“Lys Noir” motif adorning a bottle designed by the artist in 1924, based on the
lotus blossoms of Egyptian frescoes…
This Lys motif, so abstract it can hint at other flowers, has given rise to the
inspiration for Lalique’s new feminine fragrance: AZALÉE. A scent as radiant as
a sunny garden, named after a flower that symbolizes the joy of love.

In the top notes, Bergamot spills sunshine on a playful Peach that blends into the delectably fruity facets of Freesia. In the heart, crimson Roses, heady Gardenia and intoxicating Sambac Jasmine are gathered into a bouquet as luxuriant as an azalea bush in full blossom… In the drydown, the fragrance settles languidly into dusky Patchouli, creamy Sandalwood and sensuous Amber.
